Adorable Colmar, France in 360 Degrees

360 Adventure in Adorable Colmar, France

It is such a wonderful thing when you have hopes for a place to be something wonderful, but you get there and it is something even more amazing than you could ever hope for.  That is what Colmar was for me.  It was stunningly beautiful.  The pace in the town was relaxing.  The church was incredible.  The canal was mesmerizing to watch people in boats glide on down.  Shop owners were kind and shops were adorable.  My one daughter found the most amazing pastry shop and bought a scrumptious berry cream creation for only 3 Euros. This town is just North of Switzerland and west of Germany so it has influence from those cultures and you can find lots of yummy food from those areas.  Streets are mostly one way, so it takes some time to get around town trying to find streets going the direction you want to go, and parking is a little tricky, but everything else was perfect!    Colmar's wonders are that it is one of the few towns that survived the wars without being bombed.  It also is one of 2 towns in France that boast of being a Little Venice in France.

I love the German style Colors and the Brown lines making the buildings so fun and enchanting.

LA ROCHELLE, FRANCE
LaRochelle was a fabulous Harbor town where they did the Red Bull Diving competition off the tower on the left.  It is rich with fascinating history, and constantly has beautiful catamarans sailing n and out of the harbor.  It has an adorable market, and good food, and spectacular ocean views with historical towers and beautiful buildings.  Definitely one of my husbands favorite places on our Tour of France. Check it out in 360 Degrees.

BEACH OF THE MOLE
This Fabulous Pirate Town is gorgeous and has some of the most fabulous history of pirates collecting money from any boat sailing up the English Channel. It became such a wealthy town that it was mostly left alone by Brittany and France.  I love being here on the off times when it is a little more quiet and you can just relax and enjoy the shops and the crepes. Check it out in 360 Degrees.

of MY FAVORITE MEDIEVAL TOWN WAS A TOSS UP BETWEEN
LOCRANON, FRANCE
Locranon I loved for it was Medieval but yet still alive just like  Carcosonne France (our Spanish Medieval city with the Largest wall)

Locronan's church and heroin gives this place an interesting history.  It has a fabulous bakery, wonderful rock paved streets, and it is just magical in the evening when the lights go on. Of course lots of fun side streets to explore and some cool trails on the perimeter of the town.

and MY OTHER FAVORITE MEDIEVAL TOWN that also has the cute narrow side streets to explore, cute quaint shops and restaurants to explore is PEROUGES FRANCE
It was just delightful from the moment we entered the town.  If you make it here, you definitely need to wander through the side streets until you find the cute Steam Punk store with all the amazing gadgets there.

This really was an amazing Tour of France. I loved our focus of exploring a quaint town near each different country border so we felt like we experienced multiple countries yet never left France and didn't drive as far.  It was brilliant.   If you want to see all the places we traveled, just use the search magnifying glass at the top right and type in France to see more of this fun vacation.
